*Libertarian Party of Alabama Convention 2009*

We expect an exciting and interesting Convention this year that will determine the direction of the LPA for years to come.

Date: Saturday, June 27, 2009
Time: 10-6PM
Location: LPA State Headquarters, 2330 Highland Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35205
Cost: $50 (Note: There is no charge for attending the business sessions which start around 2:30pm.)

Please RSVP by sending an email to gallatin76@aol.com.

One of the major functions of the annual Convention is the election of new officers and other members of the state party executive committee.  In addition some changes have been proposed which would affect the makeup of the executive committee.  These decisions will be made at the business session in the latter part of the day's agenda. The current party bylaws are available here.  LPA members may attend the business session without charge.   The LPA Bylaws state that in order to vote at the Convention a Party member must have been a member at least 30 days prior to the date of the Convention, although those who satisfy that voting requirement could choose to suspend that rule during the Convention. (It would take a 2/3 vote for such a suspension.)  These decisions on the future of the party are being discussed on the party discussion board.   Feel free to join in.
